Winchester Orchard Neighborhood Association

Mission Statement: Planning for tomorrow while preserving the neighborhood today.


We founded our association in January 2014 after learning that our neighbors (The Winchester Ranch Mobile Home Community) might lose their homes. Our Winchester Ranch neighbors own their mobile homes, but rent the land on which their homes stand. The owner of the mobile home park was interested in selling the land to a developer, who may construct a mixed-use building on the property (with commercial/ stores/ restaurants on the bottom floor and condos/ apartments above...like Santana Row). We formed our association to: assist our Winchester Ranch neighbors and try to keep them from losing their homes, prevent unwanted development of that property, and prevent our dead-end streets from being “cut through,” for easier shopper and resident traffic access to the property. We are concerned about increased traffic around our neighborhood, and about the “urban village” planned for our community. Looking forward, we also want to address crime and crime prevention in the neighborhood, promote fellowship among neighbors, and understand the other needs of our community.

Our neighborhood:

Our boundaries extend from Winchester Blvd. (to the east) to San Tomas Expressway (to the west) to Stevens Creek Blvd. (to the north) and to I-280 to the south. As of March 2015, the Winchester Ranch Mobile Home Community has become a part of WONA. They also have a homeowner's association, Winchester Ranch Home Owner's Association (WRSHOA), that supports their specific needs. WONA is also allied with the Winchester Neighborhood Action Coalition (WNAC).  WONA is part of San Jose’s District 1, and we are currently represented by Councilmember Chappie Jones.
